This first full week of Mercury retrograde in August contains the 8/8 Lion’s Gate portal and may feel like a reset button. A readjustment of priorities is warranted, and there’s a bit of breathing room to do so. The astrological landscape is generally quiet – especially on the social/outer planet front, but we’re gearing up to some much more significant energies mid-late month, so get those catnaps in when/if you can.

The only aspects this week occur on Wednesday, August 7th when we have a lovely Sun sextile Jupiter and a Mercury/Venus conjunction.

The Sun in Leo 16 (Sunshine just after a storm) sextiles Jupiter in Taurus 16 (A woman suffragist haranguing) – this rejuvenating, expansive connection could spur a new beginning and/or a beneficial shift in our perspective on a situation.

Mercury retrograde conjoins Venus in Virgo 4 (Three children playing together), reminding us of the importance of releasing prejudices and judgmental beliefs.

Also on the 7th, Uranus finally moves out of Algol’s degree into Taurus 28 (Woman pursued by mature romance), reminding us that it’s never too late for a new beginning.

Over the weekend, both social planets shift a degree. On the 10th, Jupiter moves from Gemini 16 to Gemini 17, shifting the approach, tone and effectiveness of our persuasive arguments. We may find ourselves able to more effectively and rationally present ideas that we’ve been passionate about. On the 11th, Saturn, the planet of diligence, hard work and limits moves back into Pisces 18 (A gigantic tent). During it’s stay in this degree (until 8/27), expect some significant displays of attention in the collective – keep your eye on those working hard to attract a following through public displays of their talents, gifts and abilities — are you all enjoying the Paris 2024 Games? I know I am!
