Taurus Full Moon
“The hidden dragon prepares for its rise.”
The symbols activated by the 11/5 Taurus Full Moon as us to find comfort and security in our communities now. Under the surface the seeds of change are preparing to sprout.
This lunation’s Tarot Majors include The Hierophant (Taurus), The Empress (Venus rules Taurus), Death (Scorpio), Judgement and The Tower (Pluto and Mars co-rules Scorpio), The Sun (rules Taurus’ 2nd decan), and The High Priestess (The exalted Moon rules Taurus’ 2nd decan). The Sun and Moon sit in their “home” decans for this lunation which hold the compassionate, balanced, peaceful, steady, and generous energy of the Knights and 6s of Cups/Pentacles. These cards are asking us to remember what keeps us humble, secure and calm and to prepare with our community for significant transformations that will soon take place.
The Moon sits in the Humility Sabian expression in Taurus 14 and the Sun sits in the Application expression in Scorpio 14. These symbols relate to community, peace, connectivity, and networks. Significant progress can occur (often below the surface) when we learn to live and let live, focusing on solutions to problems not overwhelm and fear.
The I Ching activations are the 1st lines of Hex1 (The Creative) and Hex2 (The Receptive) – the hexagrams made up of all Yang and all Yin lines. So the luminaries are both in their own decans and in hexagrams which mirror their innate qualities (Sun = Yang, Moon = Yin). @bellwen says of Hex1.1, “Great power and potential are about to burst, but at the present moment, they are still latent, hidden from view, a secret…The dragon is lurking out of sight, and yet plotting, waiting to rise.” And on 2.1, another Hex related to the qilin (a mythical beast portending a significant, transformative event related to a leader), “Now is not the time to be a pioneer. Walk the path that others have paved…It will get harder before it gets easier…Safety and security first. Wait until the worst is over.”
