Monthly Transits – November 2024

November kicks off with an intensely powerful New Moon in Scorpio and some very potent astrology occurring over the first four days of the month.

The two rulers of Scorpio, Mars and its higher octave Pluto, start the month in an opposition between the last degrees of Cancer and Capricorn. Fun fact: Mars sat exactly where Pluto is now (in Capricorn 30) the day of the 2016 election. Now in its fall in Cancer, Mars sits in the exact opposite position for a final showdown with Pluto, the great transformer, which in 2016 was in the middle of its ~16-year journey through Capricorn.

Mars will enter Leo and repeat this opposition to Pluto in Aquarius twice more over the next few months as it goes retrograde later this year. Aggressive, controlling and domineering approaches are being called to account. We’re seeing the toppling of hierarchical structures that we’ve outgrown over Pluto’s time in Capricorn and the rise of powerful, feminine, collective-focused energies.

This month’s Taurus Full Moon occurs on the 15th, the same day Saturn moves direct, and on the 16th the Sun opposes Uranus. During the third week of November, we have a once-in-a-lifetime astrological event taking place with Pluto leaving Capricorn permanently and entering Aquarius for the next 20 years. There will be no going back to outdated ways.

Two days later, the Sun leaves the depths of Scorpio and enters Sagittarius, making a lovely, transformative sextile to Pluto in my adobe mission’s namesake degree (Aquarius 1 – An old adobe mission).
Expect to feel a boost of optimism as we wrap up November.

And yes, Mercury will be going retrograde starting the week of Thanksgiving travel here in the US…so give yourself some extra time and grace as you close out the month!
