Libra Full Moon Lunar Eclipse - 3/25/2024

Tonight (2am CST Monday Morning 3/25) we have a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse in Libra. Eclipses are not a great time for heavy ritual or divination practices, and with both the ruler of the moon (Venus) and sun (Mars) in Pisces, this eclipse especially is a time to observe/go with the flow/surrender/release vs do/push/attempt to control/manifest.

The Tarot, Sabian Symbols and I Ching all hold similar advice for this eclipse – we have Justice facing off against the Emperor (Libra vs Aries) and the Empress vs Tower. These tell a story of beauty, balance, abundance and truth vs. control and temporary upheavals. And with the moon (High Priestess), Queen of Swords and 2 of swords as Tarot decan guides for this eclipse – I think we would do well to trust our intuition as we move towards the next eclipse on April 8 – much is likely to be revealed during this time, and the energy of this moment is bending towards the slow arc of justice and truth.

On the I Ching side, the moon sits in Hexagram 18 (Correcting), Line 2 – a line that @bellwen specifically says is “not an appropriate time for divination”. Hexagram 18 is about correcting what has been spoiled and Hexagram 17 (Following), where the Sun sits during this eclipse, advises that sometimes the best way to lead is to follow. Spend this week in observer mode, trusting that the universe will deliver us the signs and gifts we are meant to receive as we enter Spring.

The Sabian Symbol for Libra 6 (The ideals of a man abundantly crystalized) is a Sabian about our values coalescing into being – another reminder that Venus holds dignity over this eclipse (and on Thursday she’ll make a sextile to Uranus – further awakening our values). The Sun in Aries 6 (A square brightly lighted on one side) is about an urge for inner stability. This pair of Sabians underscore a theme that’s been building: that our principles and values are being examined/illuminated. That enough is a feast and abundance is about quality of life, not the quantity of things that we have.
