Venus Sextile Uranus, Mercury Sextile Jupiter
The Tarot and Sabians for Monday’s two sextiles paint a story of new chapters, liberation from boredom or stagnant energy, and the impetus we need to break free from limited or restrictive thinking/patterns.
The personal planets (Venus and Mercury) are in decans both ruled by the Knight of Wands who is confident and ready for new adventures! This Knight rules over the last decan of Cancer (where we find Venus) and the first 2 decans of Leo (where Mercury is speeding through). The 4 of cups and High Priestess (Moon) influence on Venus reminds us to tap into our intuition so we don’t miss out on any subtle gifts on offer from the universe – however the Sabian (A storm in a canyon) and the connection w/the great awakener (Uranus) raises the possibility that less-than-subtle messages may be coming our way this week! Be prepared to receive something that may pull you out of a funk.
Mercury in the Saturn-ruled, 5 of wands decan of Leo is full of a competitive spirit, perhaps making bold moves in an effort to end one chapter and begin a new. Here the Tarot coincides nicely with the Leo 10 (Early morning dew) Sabian which Rudhyar gives the keynote “The exalted feeling that rises within the soul of the individual who has successfully passed through the long night which has tested his strength and his faith.”
Uranus and Jupiter (the planets of awakening and expansion), the transpersonal/social planets on the other side of the sextile are both sitting in decans ruled by the King of Swords (he rules the last decan of Taurus and first 2 decans of Gemini). Their influence on our personal desires for adventure is a decisive, authoritative and intellectual one that can help steer us out of the reassessing energy of the 7 pentacles and self-restricting influence of the 8 of swords. The Sabians (An old native woman selling beads and An airplane falling) are symbols of greater wisdom and the power of mind over matter.
These sextiles may just have us feeling we can accomplish whatever we put our minds to this week!
