Venus square Pluto

Late tonight (early on 5/1 for many), Venus makes a square to Pluto. This is the first major tension-inducing checkin for these 2 since the start of their synodic cycle which began mid-Feb in Aquarius 1 (An old adobe mission). Because of this relationship to the “birth Sabian” for this passion project (which I ironically launched when Pluto was conjunct my natal Venus in that same degree), I’m feeling this one quite intensely.

It’s time for evaluating priorities and progress related to financial security, what we value most and how we’ve been re-patterning our daily lives towards the goal of building something empowering, impactful and sustainable. With Pluto about to station retrograde Thursday, this adds an extra punch to this square as Pluto prepares to re-visit all these initial degrees of Aquarius before its last sojourn into Capricorn later this year. Sitting today at Aquarius 3, we may collectively and personally be feeling some real disillusionment with traditional power structures and perhaps have become more clear on what we are and are not willing to accept. Venus in Taurus 3 gives us the stable and determined effort to find our way through this tension.

The Tarot for this transit holds the 2 most diametrically opposite Knights in the deck – the slow and steady Knight of Pentacles vs the righteously hasty Knight of Swords as well as 2 of the “trickiest” change cards in the 5 of Pentacles and Swords. With The Empress and Magician (and Judgement) ruling over this moment however, we should take comfort in any inevitabilities and know we have all the tools needed to abundantly manifest the reality we desire.

The I Ching hexagrams include Line 1 of Hexagram 27 (Nourishment) and Hexagram 41 (Decrease). Hex 27.1 advises that it’s unnecessary to look outside ourselves for answers – we have all we need within to change our situation. Hexagram 41.1 advises expediency in completing personal matters so attention can be given to new endeavors with others. Thankfully Mars moving into his home sign of Aries today should give us the boost to do just that!
