Daily Transit – 2/16/2024

Venus has entered Aquarius! And in the wee hours of 2/17 (CST) she’ll follow in the path of Mercury and Mars before her by greeting Pluto and officially starting her new synodic cycle of repatterning. These 3 personal planets are kickstarting a radical transformation of our ideas, values and ambitions towards a more sustainable future for the collective.

This evening, before Venus and Pluto meet, Mercury makes an exact square to Uranus in Taurus at 19°17′. This transit is powerful, and full of tension for kickstarting social change.

The Sabians are Aquarius 20: “A big white dove, a message bearer” which has themes of peace and spiritual blessings after a time of trouble. And Taurus 20: “Wind, clouds and haste” which describes our willing participation in unseen forces. Mercury and Uranus squaring each other on these Sabians may feel like tension concerning ideas for creating more peace in our lives and the world when unseen forces are at play.

Holding faith is key (harness the hopeful/spirit wielding energies of The Star/The Hierophant – the Tarot Major pair for the two signs in this square). Uranus can deliver breakthrus when we least expect it. These are 5-degree Sabians after all, indicating that when we work through this tension, we’ll have assimilated and progressed to a more advanced, presumably better state of being.

The I Ching Hexagram/Lines for this square are 49: Revolution, Line 1 and 23: Splitting Apart, Line 1. @bellwen describes 49_1 in I Ching, The Oracle as an “Omen alerting to the condition of oppression. Reform is needed…the initial stage of revolution – the beginnings of an awakening.” Hex23_1 describes the need to stay calm, resilient, yet alert – “Heed this first omen of danger, and all can still end well.” These two hexagrams are both in sync (there is a need for change), but at odds in terms of the timing and momentum for enacting such change, reflecting the tensions this square.
