Each mission chart with a known time/place includes the following 20 points:

Personal points: Sun, Earth, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars

 

Communal (Social) points: Jupiter, Saturn, Chiron

 

Generational (Transpersonal) points: Uranus, Neptune, Pluto

 

Cosmic (Angles/Calculated) points: North Node, South Node, Ascendant, Descendant, Imum Coeli, Midheaven, Vertex, Part of Fortune

Aries rising charts are created in lieu of a 20-point chart when only a date is known (no exact time and/or place). These charts do not include the last 6 Cosmic/Calculated points, and may show a range of degrees for the Moon, Sun and any other planets/points that changed degree on that date.  QB090481 - Beyoncé is such an example (birth time not verified).

Every point icon in mission charts is intentionally styled within a given mission Chart to provide deeper insight into its qualities. Specifically, point icons incorporate the following:

Color: Consistent for every point throughout mission's website and other iconography (see Sign Icons)

 

Category: The top strip of every sign icon is a reference to its category (Personal - dark brown, Communal - gray/brown, Generational - cream, Cosmic - white)

 

Direct/Retrograde Motion: The bottom strip of every sign icon is a reference to whether it's in direct (dark gray) or retrograde (red) motion.  Planets or points stationing direct will have a bright green bottom strip.

 

Out-of-bounds indicator: The indicator in the point icons will have a RED top squiggle if a point is out-of-bounds. Out-of-bounds planets "Act independently, and in an unsocialized but potentially creative manner." More info about out-of-bounds planets can be found here.

 

Name/Keyword: Each point icon has the points name and keyword to support easy recognition (glyphs take time to learn!) and association with their key archetypal themes

Sign icons are intentionally styled to spark deeper understanding of the archetypes they hold. As an example, the Aquarius icon is shown next to an annotated version which details the icon styling described below.

 

 

 

 

 

Element: The glyphs of the signs represent their element (Red = Fire, Green = Earth, Yellow = Air, Blue = Water)

 

Modality: The background color of the sign icon represents their modality (White = Cardinal, Gray = Fixed, Two-Toned = Mutable)

 

Rulerships: Borders around sign glyphs are colored by their Modern Ruler with Traditional Ruler color (if different) on left side and Proposed Ruler color (if applicable) on right side

 

Decan Rulerships: The bottom borders of all sign icons have 3 colors representing the Chaldean decan rulers for each 10° section (Decan) of the sign.

 

Dignities: The color of the squares in the top left/bottom left, top right/bottom right represent the points that are in Domicile/Detriment, Exaltation/Fall in the sign respectively.

 

Keywords: All mission chart sign icons include sign names and keywords to spark recognition of their archetypal significance and aid with intuitive insight

 

 

Dignities, Decan and Sabian Symbol Indicators

Legend under each chart details the indicators used to distinguish the Sun Dispositor, dignities, Chart Ruler, and points that are not represented by icons (Angles, Vertex).

 

 

Each point's degree is colored based on its Sabian Expression 5-degree Pattern color

 

Decan ruler color strips show when points move between 10-degree sections of the zodiac (color = Chaldean decan ruler)

 

Color strips under each degree make it clear which point sits at that degree

The "Visible 7" (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn) are ranked according to their dignities (amongst the Visible 7).

adobe mission's rating system considers Traditional and Chaldean Decan rulerships and dignities (exaltation/detriment/fall). Where "ties" exist, the point with more dignity amongst the full 20-point chart is ranked highest.

mission Charts are the basis for unique "analytics" that can be derived from a chart to support deeper study and understanding. One such feature that can be "unlocked" from a mission Chart is the mission Compass.

The mission Compass is adobe mission's "Big 4" - the four points within the Visible 7 that are most critical for unlocking meaning and purpose.  The Big 4 always include the Sun, Moon and the next top 2 most dignified points within the Visible 7 Waterfall.  The mission Compass is arranged with the most dignified point in the top left spot, 2nd most dignified in the top right spot, 3rd in the bottom left and 4th in the bottom right.

mission Charts are the basis for unique "analytics" that can be derived from a chart to support deeper study and understanding.  Two such features that can be "unlocked" from a mission Chart are the Dignities Map and Alliances.

The Dignities Map plots the points of the chart below a large rectangle colored according to its sign's Traditional ruler (Host) and a smaller rectangle colored according to its Chaldean decan ruler (Guide).  

Points have arrows pointing to each other to indicate "Alliances" ( adobe mission's term for a broadly-defined "mutual reception" between points).  An Alliance is "formed" when two points are each others Hosts and/or Guides and/or in each other's Exaltations.
