“Develop inwardly the strength to cope with uncontrollable forces”

We end 2024 with a New Moon that asks us to find our peace and calm as well as a Mercury trine Chiron transit that encourages us to give generously to others, prepare and stock up for what could be an extra spicy start to 2025.

I don’t normally include specific Moon transits in my weekly/monthly views, but it felt important to call out that New Year’s Day, fresh off Monday’s New Moon in Capricorn (correspondence guide posted Friday) sees Luna conjunct Pluto in Aquarius 2 (An unexpected thunderstorm). This Tower-esque degree is getting a lot of attention this year (Pluto spends the entire year in the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th degrees of Aquarius) and this week specifically as Pluto and Mars have their 2nd (of 3) oppositions, with Mars now in Leo 2 (An epidemic of the mumps).

Leo 2 relates to events with widespread implications while Aquarius 2, the Sabian Symbol’s Tower Card equivalent, reminds us that nature/outside forces can unexpectedly bring us to our knees when it’s necessary to restore balance. Use the tension between Mars and Pluto in these turbulent degrees to strengthen your own inner fortitude. With Mars in retrograde, going inward is going to bring more rewards than acting out.

With Venus leaving Aquarius and moving into Pisces this first week of the New Year, find serenity in what you can control and surrender what you cannot. Deepen your gratitude practice, and when forces outside of your control loom large, remember that after the Tower comes the Star.

Saturday is a great day to both play and get things done – Saturn’s sextile to the Sun will boost our productivity, generosity and ability to tap into the calm preparedness we need to weather any storm. It’s a good week to digital detox, avoid spreading gossip/rumors and tap into the wisdom and intentions you set during the New Moon to radiate peace as you begin the New Year.
