Virgo Full Moon - 2/24/2024

Saturday’s Full Moon in Virgo is influenced by Mercury (ruler of Virgo) moving into its Detriment and Fall in Pisces, the recent Venus/Mars conjunction in Aquarius 7 (see yesterday’s post), and a Venus/Jupiter square.
There’s an over-arching theme at this time of birthing radical new ideas, influenced by tension in how to manifest them and a need to surrender.

The Sun and Mercury in dreamy Pisces bring these Tarot majors into play: The Moon, The Hanged Man and The World (Saturn rules and sits in Pisces decan 1 where it will be re-ignited next week by the Sun). There is a need to surrender, find a new perspective and comfort in the unknown. The World and the 8 of cups for Pisces decan 1 encourage us to walk away from the things that no longer serve us – to initiate endings so we can embrace new beginnings. The King of Cups gives us the emotional maturity to do so.

The Pisces 6 Sabian: “Officers on dress parade” encourages service, the surrendering of the individual for the good of the community.

The Moon in efficient, earthy, service-oriented Virgo is working with The Magician and The Hermit who are discovering how to best shine their light in a Sun-ruled decan associated with the King and 8 of Pentacles. Themes of enterprising hard work mean it’s not a time for rest and Virgo 6’s Sabian: “A merry-go-round” teaches us to find poise and joy amidst the emotional turbulence of life.

The I Ching for the Sun is in
Hex 55 Line 6 (Abundance – Thunder over Fire) and the Moon is in Hex 59 Line 6 (Dispersion – Wind over Water). @devapadma.art in her Tao Oracle deck advises for 55_6: “Stop fixating on what you want or what you’re lacking. As long as your focus is on what’s next or what could be, you’ve lost touch with the abundance of what you really have” and for 59_6 she guides: “It’s not always wise to stride into the middle of a street brawl and try to break it up.”

So this full moon, we are being asked to focus on gratitude and service to others, leave behind what no longer serves us and surrender to a new way of being.
